Colin was a truly talented artist that left this world far too soon. Leukaemia is an ugly illness that can cause great suffering to the many victims that don't deserve it. But never did I think it would take the lives of a few great people from this world (Edd also died of it too).
But enough misery, lets remember the good times. I can't remember when he inspired me, but I think it was when he made the video of Heavy getting a license. It was funny, it was fast paced and ultimately straight out insane. This sparked me to try and do the same. People always complained why I used too many cartoon sound effects and silly animations. Though this may sound like too simple of a crouch, I would have to honestly say it was cause Kitty set the bar what to strive for. SFM can be serious yes, but there have always been better media to do that. When Kitty did his work, he would go "fuck realism, the Heavy is going bowling with his cousin!" And so he did. Every idea that came to his head he slammed it in the last second, no regrets.
One day I actually spoke to him (even if it was very brief). I asked what any disciple would ask... "Where can I find these sound effects?"
He replied... "In the dictionary".
It wasn't the answer I looked for but deep down I knew he answered exactly how he wanted; with true humour.
With Kitty gone now, this community will forever have gapping canyon in its heart that will never truly be healed. All we can hope for is people to take note from his teachings and put them in practice. Sure they will never be the same, but this might be what he possibly wanted.
See You Space Kitty...
